Thank you for taking the time to watch this interview on Rod and Jonathan’s Come Follow Me podcast.
I am a descendant of Martin Harris from two biological connections through my birth mother. We had a family intermarriage of two family members one generation apart from the two wives of Grandpa Martin. I am not a professional historian or researcher, but I have accepted the responsibility to keep the history of Martin Harris alive, particularly with the Martin Harris Pageant being shut down. As his direct descendant, I take liberties to try and analyze the events of his life that other historians usually only briefly mention. This will be apparent in the interview, which contains some new relevant analysis as his direct descendant that I wish I did not have to bring forth.
I only had two days notice of being on this podcast, but I feel we can all learn about the power of the atonement, repentance, forgiveness, and restitution through the life of Martin Harris. Studying his life brings the principles taught by the Book of Mormon prophets alive to me. In preparing for this interview, I have learned new information I did not know a week ago.
